Cupcakes for a 2nd Birthday!

So it seems I am loading all my cupcakes photos on first! hehe... Thats OK I will work my way through! I tell you, I do have a lot here to upload! All sorts of different baked goods too! But we will quietly work our way through over the next coming weeks and hopefully bring you guys up to speed with where I find myself today!

This next batch of cupcakes were made for a Childs 2nd Birthday party, and they were well received and raved over! These ones were a huge learning curve as the first batter I tried out was horrible so I started again, then I ran out of cupcakes papers, then Dad came home with the wrong cupcake papers cause he went to the wrong shop, so Mum went out and got them, but then there were smaller type of cupcakes! haha! Never the less, it all worked out in the end. It was a full days project and took me over 8 hours in the end! Remembering that I use walking frames, and don't have full use of my left arm, so it does make things more challenging! haha! Normally it wouldn't take me quite that long, it just seemed to be "one of those days"

Aside from that fact, I put 110% into every cupcake and up until the end didn't skimp on detail on even one until I had completed them and was happy! Each cupcake individually took between 10 and 20 minutes to decorate.

The requested theme for this set of cupcakes was, 'insects, animals and garden theme' for a little boy! We even found little animal cupcake papers at the local store! Total score!

Here was the result:

The cow cupcake - he loved cows!

Thought I would experiment with a chicken! I was stoked how it turned out!

The frog! I think this fella is just way too cute! What you think?

The pig! This one was requested after seeing the last pig cupcake! Its become popular!

The ladybug was also requested! I played it up a bit with the leaves and little flowers in the garden!

Spider on his web!

This was the 2nd ladybug! Ladybug on her vine in the garden!

You cant have a garden and animal theme without a snail now can you?

He loved fish so I thought I would include one of those too!

Cant have a set of two year old birthday cupcakes without a number "2"!

And one just for fun!

Although its a bad quality photo, this was the final group photo I have!

Because I had extra cupcake batter I made a batch of mini cupcakes and threw these in as a bonus free of charge for the adults! Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla butter cream, fondant heart decorations finished with sprinkles! I thought they were pretty cute and the recipients were so grateful! :)

I am nearly embarrassed to include this photo, but this was the failed batch. Of course they tasted fine, but the cupcakes broke away too easily from the paper and the icing wasn't right! I know - I am fussy! LOL! After I decided that I was starting again I couldn't 'not leave them decorated', so while I was waiting for the new batch of cupcakes to finish I quickly topped these with fondant press outs! Some of the kids helped me. The butterfly's were meant to have little antenna but they melted on the icing. They were quickly decorated in about 20minutes tops, and these were just for the family! Tasted fantastic, but just weren't quite so eye catching!

Cupcakes for a 70th!

Hey Guys!

This was my for my parents cousin's party! Cupcakes for a 70th birthday! I was told to make them fun and happy, have fun and go wild "you know what to do", well after only two go's at making them I decided to give it my shot. This time I mixed up butter cream swirl and fondant tops!

This was the outcome!

Buttercream swirl with a fondant butterfly topper finished with sugar sprinkles!

The pig was specifically requested! hehe

This one is called "The Bow", it was my first attempt at a bow without having a clue how they are normally done, I had made the fondant bow a few weeks before hand  and then just 'placed it'. Its sits upon a fondant swirl colour top decorated with coloured glitter gels!

Butter cream top with a simple butterfly fondant topper and coloured sprinkles!

Blue top with cross hatch gels and silver balls to finish!

Lauren (sister), made this cute as snake cupcake!

Butter cream top with fondant butterfly decorated with glitter gels and finished with sugar sprinkle!

A number "70" cupcake was also requested. That is what I came up with! :)

This was the final result! They were an awesome surprise for the 'birthday boy', and well received by all!
With that I say, "Mission Accomplished!"

CUPCAKES

Hey Guys!

Thought I would upload some of the previous cupcakes that I have made for family and friends! I can do a range of different things, and am happy to customise orders to set themes or have mix and match! I have a range of different cupcakes batters, flavours and fillings to pick from as well! They are really good! Enjoy!

Butterfly cupcake made with a fondant decoration and glitter gels

Floral arrangement cupcake made with swirl colour flowers and gels! YUM!

Singular flower decorated with gels

Butterflies! Swirl fondant, swirled on top of the cupcake, decorated with gel glitter and two gorgeous fondant decoration butterflies!!

This is one of my favourite cupcakes I make! glitter gels decorate the top of the fondant. Two lady bugs made by hand sit on top of two fondant leaves with a fondant flower!! I love their little faces!

I had to show a back shot so you could see them! I love the lady bugs! They are probably one of the more popular fondant decoration tops for the cupcakes that I do!

The pig! This is also one of my most popular toppers that I do! very cute!!

This was a group shot of the cupcakes that were made! Only half are done here! As you can see, this batch of cupcakes were moist chocolate chip! We had a green vanilla butter cream to go underneath the fondant tops, just to make a bit of a surprise! They sure tasted good!

The finished result! They were really good! You can see that not all of them are posted here individually, some of them aren't mine! I saved some from that batch to let some friends here have a go... Lauren (my sister) did the baby in a blanket, the purple flower and the pink cross hatch one. The others were done by other friends! I think they did a pretty good job! I like the Ninja turtle in the right top hand corner and I also like the ice cream in the bottom right had corner, you probably cant see it well, but it looks exactly like a swirl ice cream!

First post!

Hey Guys!

So I thought it was about time, after many requests to set up a blog where people can view my creations in whichever form they take, as so many find Facebook hard to handle! So here we have it, a place where I can post pictures easily and write all about the different cakes, baking and creations I make! I am now taking orders and have started selling the cakes, cupcakes, cookies, slices, and even a muesli recipe that I adapted from a sweet friend of mine! It may take a while to back date all the photos as I plan to upload everything so will do it bit by but over the coming weeks! I will start where things started out and upload first all my cupcakes!

I started making cupcakes with my occupational therapist for rehabilitation, as a disease within my nervous system shut down the left hand side of my body. Two years on I am still trying to regain function of it but I am in a much better place than I was even 6 months ago! We walk it through day by day one step at a time! But this was where I discovered my love for baking and creating fancy cupcakes, and then went onto cakes and the likes! I have a lovely friend who has helped and is helping to teach me the tricks and knacks of some things and I am so grateful, for without her I would be so much further behind that I currently am now! Very blessed I am, even amongst my current circumstances, which still has me mostly house bound and dependant on my parents for getting out and around! My dream and goal is to regain function of my body so that I can go on to beat this disease and live a full and energetic life! Beat the pain and come out on top!

So without writing too much more for today... Here are some of the very first batch of cupcakes I ever made, having NEVER worked with fondant before in my life... ENJOY! Sorry some of the photos are a bit blurry!

Strawberry topped cupcakes! These were my favourite of the whole bunch! I just loved how they looked!

A side view! The strawberries were quite round.. Decent size! YUM!

An individual - just for you!

The flower cupcakes! These were pretty fun as well! I decided to have a bit of a play, well that's all any of this was, but I did each flower differently... I think my favourite is the single flower with the dots right round the edge in the top left hand corner! What one do you like best?

The suns are what I call fail! haha... I didn't like them at all.. If I went back and did them again now, I think I could do a better job, but they were defiantly not some of my better work, never mind, its all learning experience and development! We have to start somewhere! The sun in the bottom right hand corner was testing out the icing bag. Turns out the nozzle was too big for what we wanted but we learnt! I was still pleased with my efforts, considering I only had partial use of my left hand and not a lot of strength in my right I can look back and see how hard I worked on them, but also how far I have come!!

This was the final outcome! All of them together! They look pretty neat all in a group together huh?
